Fantasy Flight Games is pleased to announce the upcoming release of Lost Rites, the fourth Asylum Pack in the Revelations cycle for Call of Cthulhu: The Card Game!

Earlier in the Revelations saga, investigators and cultists alike traveled to a remote and forgotten city in Ebla Restored, where they scoured the area for dark knowledge to power dangerous rituals or drive the Ancient Ones out of the world. Still shrouded in secrecy, the factions of Call of Cthulhu seek to make use of arcane materials they’ve gathered in Lost Rites.

Lost Rites introduces new Relic Hunters, Monsters, and Independent agents to compete for powerful Tomes and control over the world’s fate. Moreover, the magical forces they unleash will alter the very nature of these struggles, and two new conspiracies afford the game’s factions the opportunity to play to their strengths.

Secret powers brought to light

Secrets uncovered in the Library of Ebla (Lost Rites, 79) grant unprecedented control over Investigation struggles to those who would dare wield them. Whenever a player triggers the effects of a Tome, the owner of the Library of Ebla can trigger its response to target any one character and add or subtract an Investigation icon, then choose any one story and add or subtract one Investigation struggle. Whoever who controls the Library of Ebla controls the flow of information.

Rituals in the woods

Meanwhile, the All-Mother’s servants seek to employ their own rituals in the darkness of fetid forests. When the Monsters, Creatures, and Cultists who worship the Black Goat head deep Into the Woods (Lost Rites, 71), they find a nurturing environment for their terror and murder. While Into the Woods has the standard number of icon struggles, they’re by no means the standard array. This conspiracy plays to Shub-Niggurath’s strengths, forcing double Terror and Combat struggles, and avoiding those pesky Arcane and Investigation struggles which might better benefit their adversaries.

Oh, and when they conspire to complete their dark ritual, the All-Mother’s servants spawn five points of allies from the top ten cards of the deck!
