Crash through your opponent's defenses with a combination of heroic creatures, powerful Auras, and instants that enhance your creatures in combat.
A creature with the heroic mechanic gets extra benefits whenever you cast a spell that targets it, whether that spell is an instant, a sorcery, or an Aura. If your opponent has blockers getting in your way, you can tap them with Elite Skirmisher or, better yet, use Akroan Conscriptor to steal one for a turn and add them to your attacking force.
Naturally, you need something to target your creatures with to get them going. Fall of the Hammer lets you target one of your own creatures and have it deal damage equal to its power to another creature—and that includes any +1/+1 counters it gets from its heroic trigger. Dauntless Onslaught and Coordinated Assault are both great ways to completely turn the tides of combat, each allowing you to target multiple creatures.
If you're looking for more heroic creatures, Fabled Hero from the Theros set is a powerful option. Its double strike ability doubles the effect of any power-pumping you have. Anax and Cymede is another great heroic creature if you like building up an army. Its heroic trigger gives your entire team +1/+1 and trample. If you're looking for more ways to target your creatures, Shiv's Embrace from the Magic 2014 core set lets you grant one of your creatures the strength, flight, and fiery breath of a dragon.

Born of the Gods er det andet sæt i den nye Theros-blok, som er en græsk-inspireret verden fyldt med guder, helte og uhyrer! Her er nogle af højdepunkterne:
- Som kun set før på et enkelt kort indeholder Theros-blokken Enchantment Creatures - væsener, som er forbundet til Theros' guder! Born of the Gods introducerer desuden to nye slags enchantment creatures: Nyxborn (som stammer fra Nyx - stjernehimlen, hvor guderne bor) og Archetypes (som giver evner til dine egne væsener og fjerner dem fra din modstanders).
- Bestow-evnen lader dig spille et væsen som en Aura på et andet væsen, og skulle kortet blive ødelagt, vender Aura'en tilbage som et væsen igen!
- Devotion tæller antallet af farvede mana-symboler på dine kort, og bliver stærkere, jo flere af én slags du har! Dette er specielt vigtigt for de nye Gudekort, som er enchantments, der kan blive til væsener, hvis din Devotion til deres farve er stor nok! Guderne fra Born of the Gods er desuden to farver hver, og kan altså bruge devotion fra begge farver for at blive til creatures - men til gengæld kræver de en højere devotion end de tidligere guder.
- Heroic lader dig få ekstra effekter ud af spells, som påvirker dine egne helte - såsom Auras, inklusiv de tidligere nævnte Bestow-kort!
- Theros bebos desuden af enorme uhyrer - de med Tribute-evnen er så store, at de selv mener, at de fortjener at blive tilbedt ligesom guderne. Modstanderen kan vælge at give dem +1/+1 counters for at gøre dem tilfredse, men hvis ikke, så bliver de vrede og får ekstra evner eller forårsager stor ødelæggelse.
